Wedding Entertainment Review: Heather and Kean Woodward

CHESHIRE WEDDING SINGER

Heather and Kean were looking to hire a Cheshire Wedding Singer and DJ to provide entertainment for their wedding in Congleton. As none of our packages quite suited them tailored one to their needs, which involved a daytime performance (During the wedding breakfast), an evening performance and Disco by DJ Sally. During the wedding breakfast I sang a mixture of Christmas, easy listening and love songs and for the evening show I sang some of their favourite Pop songs. Their first dance was ‘Chasing Cars’ and was sang live, followed immediately by ‘Jump around’ by ‘House of Pain’ which was played by Sally as requested. This really got the party started and the room was buzzing from then on!

THE WEDDING VENUE: SANDHOLE OAK BARN

Heather and Kean’s reception was held at Sandhole Oak Barn in Congleton, Cheshire – Just off the A34. We provided wedding entertainment here earlier in the year and have to say that it’s a great wedding venue. The Barn has everything needed for the perfect wedding reception and has clearly been made with musicians and bands in mind (Sound Limiter included!!). There are also some beautiful views outside that I’d imagine make for some excellent wedding photos. Dave Nunn and Emma are Staffordshire Wedding Photographers and provided their services for Heather and Kean’s wedding day. We found them to be very professional and accommodating, as well as of course being able to produce some stunning images of the day that they kindly forwarded to us. As wedding photojournalists they aim to quietly observe and document the day without manipulating, but remaining alert to every emotion. CATERING AND EVENT MANAGEMENT: TOP TABLE

The catering and event management was provided by Top Table, based in Sale, Manchester. Both Annette and Rene did a fantastic job of coordinating the day and were extremely accommodating. They work at various venues I believe and offer their expert services to weddings, corporate events and other private parties.

Party Entertainment Review: Peter Buckley

Warrington Party Singer

Julie and Su Buckley were looking to hire a professional Warrington Party Singer to provide memorable party entertainment for their father’s surprise 70th birthday celebration. I had previously worked with them a couple of years ago, performing for their mother’s surprise 60th birthday party and they had enjoyed themselves very much. It was my pleasure to return once more and to provide them with a tailored Party Singer package in Warrington, Cheshire.

They required two live Shows, plus some background music to be provided up until about 11.00 pm, so a tailored party entertainment package was booked. As this was a complete surprise to Peter (Their father) an early arrival was a must! I arrived about one hour before the party guests were due, set up my Bose PAS system in the appropriate area and performed a thorough sound check. By the time the party guests started to arrive I was playing some light ‘Easy listening’ music from my laptop, in order to set the scene. A few minutes before Peter’s arrival I turned the music off and lined up the ‘happy birthday’ track that Julie had requested. When he came into the room he received a very warm welcome and of course a verse of ‘happy birthday’ from his family and friends.

For the Shows Julie had requested a good mixture, consisting of ‘Rat Pack’, ‘Jazz’, ‘Pop’, ‘Easy listening’ and some love songs to finish off with. From providing a lot of party entertainment over years I have learnt that a mixture like this always goes well for such events, as opposed to a themed Show. I sang first during their meal and then again later on, which sparked a little dancing. Even though it was a relatively small party the guests had a great energy about them and the atmosphere was just right.

The party venue

Birchwood Golf Club offers facilities for private parties, weddings and corporate events. They have three different function rooms of varying sizes that can cater for up to 150 guests at one time. They offer a late bar up until midnight and can provide a resident DJ if needed, as well as balloons for an additional cost. Wedding Entertainment Review: Lisa and Glen Baynes

Hertfordshire Wedding Singer and DJ

Lisa and Glen were looking to hire a Hertfordshire Wedding Singer and DJ for their evening wedding reception on Saturday 3rd January 2009. Lisa originally made the enquiry and explained how she would like the music to 'flow' from start to finish, with performances by myself followed with other music in-between. Also, very importantly she wanted the music to be playing as guests entered the room. It was obvious that Lisa and Glen had a very good idea from the start of how wedding music should be organised and the benefits of booking a Wedding Singer, however, they were both very relaxed and happy for us to use our best judgement with regards to wedding music and times.

Their tailored wedding entertainment

As they required two live performances from a Wedding Singer, followed by a DJ set until 12.00 am, our 'Gold Plus' wedding entertainment package was booked. We started with some light wedding music as their guests arrived. Once everyone had settled I began my first Show with a mixture of 'Easy listening', 'New Jazz' and 'Rat Pack' style songs. This all went down very well. It's the kind of music that you can happily ignore if you like; just something that should compliment the existing atmosphere rather than trying to take any attention away. Towards the end of my Show I performed one of their favourite songs, 'Everything' for their first dance. This is a great first dance choice and it's nice to have close family and a few friends join in toward the end of the dance.

After the wedding buffet I kicked off the evening wedding entertainment with a 'Pop' Show, consisting again of their favourite wedding music choices. This was followed immediately with an excellent set by Wedding DJ Sally. Sally then took care of the wedding guest and ensured that the dance floor remained full for the rest of the night.

The Wedding Venue

Lisa and Glen's wedding music was provided at 'Tewin Bury Farm Hotel'. Our experience of this wedding venue was very positive.Set in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, 'Tewin Bury Farm' is the ideal country retreat for both business and pleasure and is the perfect setting for any occasion. Their dedicated and friendly staff will look after your every need and they will make sure your stay will be a memorable one.

The Wedding Photographer

There was a young, hertfordshire wedding photographer on site called Chris Horwood. We found him to be very friendly and professional. We had a quick chat at the start of the evening to discuss the agenda see about his requirements, though he was laid back and happy to go along with whatever we wanted. Chris Horwood provides relaxed and informal wedding reportage photography, unobtrusively capturing the atmosphere of the day.
